La palabra Al-Aziz se menciona 92 veces en el Qur’an.

Qataadah dijo: “Al-Aziz, (significa) El Severo en Su venganza contra aquellos de Sus Enemigos contra los que busca venganza.  . “y también dijo, “Al-Aziz, en Su venganza contra aquellos en los que El busca venganza y nadie tiene la capacidad de repelerla o evitarla” (Jami’ ul-Bayaan 7/90, 28/36)

Ibn Kathir dijo, “Al-Azeez, significa aquel que ha superado todo hasta que lo ha subyudago todo, es quien tiene el poder para superar todas las cosas….” (Ibn Katheer 4/343).

No existe fuerza en el Universo que pueda permanecer frente a Su Voluntad.

Él es a Quien pertenece el poder y el honor en su totalidad, el poderío de la fuerza y el poderío de la conquista. La creación no puede abarcarlo, Él es Omnipotente sobre todo lo que existe, toda la creación está sujeta y en deuda con Él y se rinde ante Su grandeza.

“[Se le dirá a los Ángeles:] Tomadle y arrojadle en el medio del fuego del Infierno. Luego castigadle, derramando agua hirviendo sobre su cabeza. ¡Sufre el castigo! [Pensaste que] eras poderoso y noble [por lo que Alá no te castigaría y te salvarías]” (44:47-49)

“Bendito sea Aquél en cuyas manos está el reino, y tiene poder sobre todas las cosas. Él es Quien creó la muerte y la vida para probaros y distinguir quién de vosotros obra mejor. Él es Poderoso, Absolvedor”. (67:1-2)
